our story

The London Irish Construction Network (TLICN) was formed in 2009 by a group of dedicated Irish businessmen, all of whom are involved in the construction industry in London. The objective of the group is to create and encourage new business for all members within the network. Those who have attended have benefited, and the group continues to grow. On May 25th, 2010, TLICN was officially launched at The Irish Club.

The event was a major success, attended by some of the industry’s most influential decision makers. Eugene Ford, a key supporter from the Embassy of Ireland played an instrumental role in backing the group. Guest speakers on the night included Patricia Brady, Economic Attaché from The Embassy of Ireland; Fionuala Pender, Executive Director of The Irish International Business Network; and Mary Frawley, Executive Director of The Irish Club.

It's hard to believe that it's 15 years since TLICN started up. It's great to remember all the different phases of our growth and the different stages of development of the network - from the humble beginnings of meeting at the airport each Friday and Monday.

Then onto "getting serious" and meeting in the pub for a few beers and a "chicken sandwich" on a Wednesday night. Our big launch was at the Irish Club in 2010, and then onto what we have today. As you can see from that our network goes from strength to strength. It is now widely acknowledged as "the leading construction network in London".

We are very aware that this network owes it success to its members. It is incredible to have so many like-minded people attending our events - this leads to the buzz of networking, and talking, that so often increases awareness or leads on to successes elsewhere is evidence of this.

Also key to our success has been our sponsors, we are delighted with all the support, from right back at the very beginning, from Evans Mockler, Galliard Homes and Ardent Tide - they are a very important part of TLICN, and we look forward to their continued involvement.

We anticipate our network will continue to grow and thrive, and our members will benefit from new business creation, facilitated by TLICN. Thank you for the part you played in this success: hopefully, you have benefited from it, either personally or through your company. Please continue to be part of this success and enjoy being involved with, and part of, TLICN.
